Controls
iPod shuffle pays respect to its bigger siblings with a circular control pad that puts the "go" in ergonomic. Click the center button to play and pause. Click the outer buttons to move back, skip forward, and adjust volume.

Clip
Thanks to a built-in clip, iPod shuffle goes with anything. Clip it to your sleeve, lapel, coin pocket. No matter where you wear it, iPod shuffle speaks volumes about your style.

Shuffle switch
Embrace your inner rebel: Flip the shuffle switch to mix up iPod shuffle's contents. Flip it again to play your handpicked playlists and albums in the order you synced them from iTunes.

Green means go, amber means you're low, and red means you've almost hit zero. But with up to 12 hours of battery life, the iPod shuffle may keep rocking even longer than you do.

Customer Reviews Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB Silver

earbuds not great3
The ipod shuffle is great, small, compact and it fits a lot of music on there (I got the 2G) but the earbuds are not great. I had an older ipod shuffle (that I lost, it's tiny size a distinct negative at that point) and the earbuds that came with that were much clearer.
The ones that came with the 2G shuffle are somewhat tinny and muffled. Will probably go with another brand of ear buds to get better sound quality.

This player is worthless1
I have purchased three of these 2nd generation shuffles. All three have had the same, exact problem, and none of them work, even though I've only owned them a month. I bought them for myself and my two kids. They worked at first, but upon charging, updating software, and adding songs, they inevitably had some sort of software problem and quit working. I searched Apple's support area, and although I've now spent countless hours trying to fix my particular problem, I have been unable to even find the problem listed on Apple's website, and I am unable to actually speak to a human being about the issue. I will NEVER buy an Apple product again. They have lost me forever.

great5
THIS IS MY FIRST IPOD AND I AM TOTALLY AWED BY IT. THE SOUND IS GREAT
IT'S SMALL, CAN TAKE IT ANYWHERE. THE DELIVERY WAS SO QUICK IT WAS
UNBELIEVEABLE. BOUGHT THEM FOR MY GRANDCHILDRED, BUT IT'S NEW TO ME
AND I'M SORRY I WAITED SO LONG TO GET MYSELF ONE.

Advancement and stagnation in one tiny package... Stagvancement? Pros: -Sleeker, slimmer design. -Return of the taller (better) body. -Still easy to use, as ever. Cons: -STILL no support of FLAC and other superior formats. -STILL no FM radio. -STILL no Bluetooth/WiFi, etc. -STILL some of the sh***iest audio quality among PMPs (I'm talking just plain abysmal). -STILL not enough flash memory, especially given the premium price. Final judgment: If, like my old lady, you like what iPods have done right and can live with what they do oh-so-wrong, then you'll love the newest addition to the line. If, on the other hand, you're like me and can't live without your Cowon PMP - if substance, compatibility and audio quality are more important than style and ease of navigation - then you might want to go an Apple-free route.
Nano Got Ya's Just purchased the 8G 4th generation Nano for my 14yr old. He loves it but has expressed concern about the battery life. Not a serious issue but be advised it does not last as long as previous Nano's. Also, the traditional USB based charging accessories do not charge this device. Only a standard computer based USB port seems to work. We tried to use various older ac-usb,battery pwr USB, DC-usb nothing charged it. Seems Apple decided to wire the pwr to the USB pins and not the firewire. Has caused another "Apple" generated situation where you have to go out and purchase product specific accessories.
Great The iPod Nano 4G 8Gb is my first iPod. I am well behind the power curve in music players. My reason for acquiring one is that I just bought a new Trailblazer SS with the GM factory navigation system which MUST have the navigation CD in the player. So no CD based music with the system running. Rather than spending a fortune for an after market CD changer the iPod with a Monster iCarPlay wireless plus gives you all the music you will need for just over $200 with shipping. The 8Gb sure looks as if it will hold all the music and audio books you will want for the longest trip. But, the 16Gb model is not a huge increase in price. Boy, talk about tiny. Sounds great, simple to use and loaded with features. The screen quality is amazing. This makes the Nano 4G a perfect photo album to show pictures to folks you meet along the way as well as relatives. And it attaches to a TV to display your photos. One thing to check when buying accessories is to make sure they work with the 4G. For example, the Monster FM system does NOT charge the 4G iPod.

Customer Reviews Apple iPod nano 8 GB Blue
Impressive! I wanted a nano after selling my iPod a couple of months ago. I didn't use my iPod because I had an iPhone. But sometimes using my iPhone as an iPod for long periods of the day would drain my battery and I didn't want that happening. So i seeked out for a new iPod Nano. Cheaper and smaller was what drew me to the nano. I looked all over to maybe get a good deal on it but decided that I should wait. A couple of weeks later the new nano comes out and WOW. Have you seen the new features? Wow. Apple has almost out done itself. The new design and features are just what blew me away and I had to get one. I would highly recommend this newly designed iPod Nano. i have the blue one and it's just so cool looking. Love the free games that come with it and everything about it. Maybe after a few weeks I can have bad things to say about it, but until then...I LOVE IT!
New Features Help to Keep Nano Fresh The iPod Nano has again been updated and improved, with some very nice new features. I was able to pick up a new Nano and a new iPod Touch at the Apple Store. Accelerometer Built-In - The new iPod Nano has built in accelerometers like the iPhone and iPod Touch. This allows you to enter "cover-flow," browsing by simple rotating the Nano to the left or right. No longer do you have to navigate through menus to get to cover-flow, just flip the shuffle. The accelerometer also allows you to "shake to shuffle," which means if you give the nano a strong shake back and forth, it will go to another track and shuffle your mix. However, it does take a fairly significant shake, so running should not trigger this feature, which made me happy. Fun feature. I keep wanting to do this though, so I never get through an entire song. ha. Some games in the future, for the Nano may also take advantage of the accelerometer according to Apple. Genius - This is the other new feature. When you are on a song that fits your current mood, hold down the center button. This will bring of a menu, which allows you to select "Genius." That creates a custom playlist intelligently selected based on the track you were listening to. It finds songs that go together. I've been very impressed with the results. It helps you rediscover some of your favorite music. The iPod Nano is back to a long shape, which many find easier for holding. It also allows the display to sit longways, which helps in menu navigation. The Nano is as thin as ever, and is stunningly gorgeous with the aluminum design and many colors. Overall, I thought carefully on how to rate thew new Nano. It wasn't an earth-shattering update, but when you actually get to use it, you do appreciate the new features and design. I find it a worthy additional to the iPod Family, and I don't see any problems with it. I'll keep enjoying mine.

Customer Reviews
Excellent This leather cases are hand-stitched to create the perfect fit for my iPod Classic 80GB. There is a space on the base of the case for the dock connector. So, I don't have to remove the case to get my iPod charged and allows easy access to my headphone jack. And this pure leather case incorporates a flip frame that is hand-mounted wit full screen protector. I like this case very much while the case was arrived little bit later than the expected date. I also appreciate Eforcity providing a prompt reply when I asked for the shipping status of my order,
iPod Video / Classic Genuine Leather Case for 30 GB Video and 80GB Classic with Belt Clip and Strap, Midnight Black This case is well made, but the hole on the bottom of the case for the standard iPod connectors (PC, radio, AC charger)is not large enough so you have first push the connector head through, thread it to the iPod, and then push the iPod back down into the case. This is truly a pain and a slightly larger opening would be ideal.
Very Good The belt clip is optional ans perfect fits the ipod. Holes are perfect placed as needed. Be sure to get a stick on screen protector before use.

With Cover Flow on iPod classic, you can flip through your music to find the album you want to hear. Use the Click Wheel to browse music by album cover, then select an album to flip it over and see the track list.

MusicUse the Click Wheel to adjust volume, navigate songs, browse in Cover Flow, or explore the Music menu by playlist, artist, album, song, genre, composer, and more. Want to mix things up? Click Shuffle Songs. iPod classic makes your music look as good as it sounds, thanks to its big, bright, color display.

And iPod classic keeps you entertained for up to 7 hours. Long flight or darkened room? Adjust the brightness for even more video playback time.
TV ShowsThere's always something good on iPod classic. Browse thousands of episodes of your favorite TV shows on the iTunes Store, buy them for just $1.99 each, then sync them to iPod classic. Watch last night's episodes this morning, or buy a whole TV series and play a pocket-size marathon.
PodcastsThe iTunes Store features thousands of free video and audio podcasts, including indie favorites and offerings from such big names as ABC News, Comedy Central, ESPN, PBS, NPR, and many more. Browse and subscribe to podcasts, then sync them to your iPod classic. You can even play video podcasts on TV using an optional Apple component or composite AV cable.
AudiobooksThe digital shelves of the iTunes Store are stocked with thousands of audiobooks--including exclusives like the entire Harry Potter series--so you can catch up on your reading wherever iPod classic takes you. iPod classic recognizes where you left off and bookmarks your place. You can even adjust the reading speed to suit you.

ExtrasCalendars, contacts, and a clock appear in the Extras menu, along with a few more handy items. Take the screen lock, for example. Spin the Click Wheel to choose a four-digit combination and protect your iPod classic from prying eyes. If you forget your combination, just reset when you sync. Or use the built-in stopwatch to log your best times.

sleek design, huge capacity Overall I am very happy with this ipod. It is my first mp3 player, so there is no basis for comparison. But I don't know what I would change. Sometimes the song changes but the display doesn't update to the new song. Hitting the forward button brings up the new song information. Otherwise it works great, and I don't imagine running out of space any time soon.
Upping the portable media player game ever time I bought this to replace my 30gb video. I have no regrets on my purchase. The brushed finish is much easier to keep up then the gloss finish of the previous ipod. The redefined interface is much needed and a great improvement. Great upgrade and first portable media player.
Overrated ipod has a handle on the market, but are overrated. They aren't compatible with many formats. Watch out if you've ripped your cd collection in your windows media player, this thing won't play the "wma" format. Sending media thru itunes is a pain, although the site itself has bunch a massive collection to download at $.99. Seriously, get a second generation ZUNE if you have a PC. It plays most formats (even the itunes files that you bought, has a bigger screen, fm tuner, wireless syncing and shareing between ZUNES (like if you friend has a photo or song they can send it to your ZUNE), you can upload from your ZUNE to your PC, you can choose the download format when you buy tracks for $.79, or you can subscribe for $14.99 a month and fill it with as many songs or albums you want and listen as many times as you want until you decide you must own it. All around the ZUNE is a better and more compatible product.Zune 80 GB Digital Media Player, Red (2nd Generation)
